Albert Falls Dam · KwaZulu-Natal Midlands
A fully self-catering lodge on the shores of Albert Falls Dam, KwaZulu-Natal for groups who want space, stillness, and something to talk about on the drive home.
The Setting
Orangewood sits on the edge of Albert Falls Dam in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands: a private lodge in a residential estate where the water stretches further than you can see and the pace of life drops the moment you arrive.
Sleeping eight across four bedrooms, it is designed for groups who want a real base: fully equipped kitchen, braai area at the water's edge, quad bikes for the adventurous, and a veranda that earns its keep at golden hour.
This is not a hotel. There are no check-in desks, no key cards, no corridors. You get the keys, the remote for the gate, and the run of the place.
Accommodation

The second queen room keeps the group configuration simple and comfortable.
Two singles, a couch, a mattress, and an en-suite for flexible sleeping arrangements.
Amenities
Activities
There is always something moving on the water: early mist, late reflections, birds on the reeds, and the occasional crocodile keeping everyone honest. Fish, watch the light, and treat the shoreline with respect.
Two quad bikes open up the dirt tracks and dam approaches from 8:30am to sundown. They are available to experienced riders only, strictly at your own risk, and the estate and neighbouring farmland rules matter.
The veranda earns its place late in the day. Light across the water, a fire going, the braai ready, and enough room for the whole group to settle in without crowding each other.
